There is a way in PubMed to check and see what type of research design an article is!

 

After you do a search, click on a title of an article:

 

A page will open with more information about the article. The publication information can be found in multiple places. The image below points out all three. The first is above the title with the citation information. The second is a link to the right of the article, and the third is at the bottom of the article record. Please be aware that not all articles have this feature; for many articles you will need to look at the methods section and determine what type of research is featured.
