This FAQ is about the most recent version of RefWorks, released to Quinnipiac in 2020. If you are currently using the Legacy (Orange) version of RefWorks, it is no longer supported. Please migrate to the newer, more full-featured version

Sharing a project allows you to work collaboratively with other RefWorks account holders. All members of a project have both read and write privileges.

To share a project:

1.  Log in to your RefWorks account. Next to the RefWorks logo on the left side of the banner is the Project Menu. Click the icon next to the project's name.

  • Select to the project you wish to share. This will open the project, and its name will be displayed. Rural Medicine is the name of the project in the example.

2. Select Share this project from the available options in the Project Menu.

3. A window will open. Enter the email address of your collaborators in the Invite Members to Join field. Use the email that is associated with their RefWorks accounts.

4. Select Done when finished.

The recipient will receive a notification to accept the project when they log in to their RefWorks account.

Once a project is Shared:

  • Instead of Share this Project in the project menu, Sharing Settings will be listed.
    • To remove a person from a shared project, open the project. Select Sharing Settings, open the Owners menu, and click the X icon next to the member’s email address.
