Importing references from from a ProQuest supported database such PTSDpubs into New RefWorks takes just a few easy steps!

1. Open PTSDpubs or any other ProQuest supported database.

2. Run a search.

3. Mark the boxes next to the references you wish to import to New RefWorks.

4. Select the three dots (...) icon to view all available save options. This can be found on the right side of the webpage.

5. In the new window, select RefWorks from the available options listed under the section titled "Citation Export".

6. A pop-up box titled "Export/Save" will appear. Verify that the information in the box is correct:

  • Under the "Items selected" section, you should see the number of references that you had previously selected.

  • For Output, the option should be pre-selected to RefWorks

  • For Content, the default option should be pre-selected to Citation, abstract, indexing

  • The other available options should be unaccessible

  • Complete the CAPTCHA prompt

  • When ready, click Continue

7. A new window will open, asking if you wish to continue the import process. Click the blue button that says "Yes, export to the newest version of RefWorks".

8. RefWorks will open. You may need to sign into your account if you have not done so previously.

9. Before completing the process, you will have the option to designate where you want to save the reference. You can select from any of your existing Projects. You can also assign the reference to a folder within that Project. When ready, click Import.

9. The page will refresh and will confirm that the import process is complete.
