This FAQ is about the New (Blue) version of RefWorks, released to Quinnipiac in 2020. If you are currently using the Legacy (Orange) version of RefWorks, please consider migrating to the newer, more full-featured version, using these instructions. Information about the Legacy version can be found here

To remove a reference from a folder:

1. Using the left-hand toolbar, click My Folders and select the folder from which you wish to remove a reference.

2. Check the box next to the reference(s) you wish you delete.

3. Select Delete from the middle of the top toolbar (it will become clickable once you select a reference).

4. You will have two choices:

  • Remove from Folder: this option lets you remove a reference from the folder without deleting it from your database completely. Note: If you have a reference filed in multiple folders, the reference is only removed from the folder you are viewing

  • Delete: sends the reference to your trash
